Augusto and Alberto are Master of Wine candidates, Certified WSET Educators, and enthusiastic advocates for Italian wine. They hold degrees in Economy and Management, complemented by international experience in the US.
After gaining first hand sommelier experience in Umbria, they pursued advanced hospitality studies at the Swiss Hotel Management School in Montreux, Switzerland, before relocating to London.
In the UK, they rose through the ranks from sommelier to Head Sommelier roles across luxury hospitality environments including The Four Seasons, Edwardian Hotels, Michelin-starred restaurants, and private members’ clubs.
They have served as Group Wine Education Managers at Gordon Ramsay Restaurants, where they designed bespoke training programmes tailored to both casual and high-end venues.
In June 2023 the Gherardi brothers were ranked amongst the top 100 Sommeliers in UK and in June 2025 they received the “Excellence in Education” award at the Taylor’s Port Top 100 Sommeliers UK, a prestigious recognition of their outstanding contribution to wine education.Knowledge is treated as something to be structured, applied and translated clearly.
